God Rock, Inc.: The Business of Niche Music has been shortlisted for the 2022 Ralph J. Gleason Award, which honors popular music writing broadly defined (and not limited to scholarly writing). The Gleason Award is administered by the Pop Conference in conjunction with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and NYU’s Clive Davis Institute. God Rock, Inc. is one of 15 finalists for the award, from a field of over 70 entrants. It is an honor for my work to be recognized alongside so many other amazing writers, many of whom I look up to as colleagues and for inspiration.
